STARTING IN 2019,

The Next Step Surf Coach was launched with the vision of teaching others how to surf while having an experience full of joy and love for the sport. Our knowledgeable coaching and prior success demonstrates just that. As a licensed and insured company, we deliver our promise of safety, expertise, and having fun! Surfing is a large and passionate part of the culture on Maui, and we are here to share that with you. After the wildfire devastation, our company has had the time to rebuild and provide the greatest experience possible for all ages. Aloha, my name is Tomas. Since I was a kid, my mom had a hard time taking me out of the water. Waves or no waves, I have always been passionate about the ocean and learning from it.

My grandfather, a lifeguard and surfer, taught me about the tides, currents, and how to handle different situations. Now it's my turn to teach you!

My goal is to teach you safety, how to read the ocean, etiquette about surfing, proper technique, and most importantly - have fun. Take the next step and learn to surf!
